How To Update Scripts
On this page, we will instruct you on how to follow the correct procedures for applying a new script update on TradingView.
Applying An Update
Disclaimer: Please save your desired script settings or values to a notebook, onto TradingView's templates or as an image because they are likely going to reset to defaults after applying an update!
Remove all or the relevant scripts from your chart loadout and save that loadout to the cloud. To remove a script press the X icon next to the script name!
Refresh your TradingView webpage or the associated application used to access TradingView.
Add the newly updated script back from the indicator panel for use once again.
Once done, the latest version number should appear on our indicators through either the dashboard or the panel. If the update doesn't apply please try the following steps for troubleshooting the error.
Clear browser history alongside with the saved browser cookies and cache.
Try using a different internet connection to reset TradingView's saved data.
Unfavourite the indicator causing the issue and re-favouriting them again.
However, there will be times when all of these steps doesn't work, which is all on TradingView's side due to their server requiring an update. We recommend you to contact TradingView support if the script still hasn't updated after waiting at least 2 or more hours.
Once all of the steps have been completed and you have the newly updated indicator, we recommend that you go save your chart layout to ensure that the next time you load up TradingView, the updates will stick.
Getting Notified On New Updates
We always announce our new updates in our Discord server. When a script is updated, TradingView will send you an email about the new update with the patch notes also if you are currently on TradingView at the time of the update, you will see a notification ping on the lightbulb of new content, which is found on the right hand side.
If you do not receive any update information on the TradingView platform please make sure you have the following profile settings enabled!
